Prayers |
For our Companion Relationship with Haiti
God our Creator, you make all people part of your family. We pray for the people of our Companion Diocese in Haiti and pray for their Bishop, The Rt. Rev. Zache Duracin. We pray especially for our ministry with the dean, the Rev. Burnet Cherisol, the faculty and the students of the University Episcopale D'Haiti. Bless us as we learn more about our sisters and brothers in Haiti. Help us to embrace our common blessing in serving you. Open our eyes to the gifts you give us in each other. Guide us to build bridges between our cultures and our churches. Show us the ways in which we can grow in knowledge and concern for one another and share our lives and resources. We ask these things in the name we name together, your precious Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
For the needs of Haiti
God of love and mercy, we pray for all people in Haiti as they continue to struggle with harsh economic problems and living conditions. We pray for the people of Haiti who endure shortages of food, shelter, and other basic human needs. Strengthen them with the power of your Holy Spirit and with the help of others in their efforts to revitalize and improve their homeland. Help them find ways to organize and build up their economic and social systems in a way that will promote long-term stability and unity. For all other cares on the hearts and minds of our Haitian brothers and sisters, we lift them to you. Amen.
