We are buying a truck!
Episcopal Food Delivery Truck Project for Haiti

Our diocese is currently involved in purchasing a much needed truck to deliver food to rural regions in our companion diocese of Haiti. The cost of this $30,000 truck is being shared with the Saint Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church, Chapin, SC. Our commitment is $15,000, an amount we raised by September 2005. While we had planned to have the “Episcopal Food Delivery Truck” in operation by the end of 2005, civil unrest in Haiti has suggested caution about bringing in a vehicle for now. Food for the Poor has agreed to provide the drivers and maintain the Episcopal Food Delivery Truck.
The Companion Diocese Committee extends our thanks to the many congregations in the Diocese of Lexington to made this gift possible, the people of Saint Francis of Assisi who joined the effort, and the generous cooperation of Food for the Poor. When delivered, the truck will make many food, medical, and building supplies available to remote regions of Haiti.
