| The Episcopal Church does not claim to posses the truth. Instead, we are trying faithfully to be possessed BY the Truth, that is, Jesus Christ himself. The Episcopal Church does not have a list of specific things you must believe to be a part of the church. Thus, the beliefs of the members of the Episcopal Church are varied and complicated. We do share some basic beliefs and they are much simpler. The most basic beliefs of the church have been taken from scripture and distilled into "creeds." The Nicene and Apostles' creeds are the most common. The Outline of the Faith, or Catechism, expands the creeds and presents our basic beliefs in FAQ format. Follow the links below for more.
