God created the world and everything in it.
In the Episcopal Church, we generally believe
evolution was a perfectly good way to do it, but what's really
important is that one way or another, we owe our being to God.
Far from a distant, uninterested God, we are invited
to think of God as Father, a loving and concerned parent.
We stick with the "Father" language because
that's the language Jesus used. If a mother is a better image of
a loving and concerned parent for you, by all means run with it.
God's deep parental love for us is more important than the gender we
apply to God.
