Altar Guild The purpose of St. Mary’s Altar Guild is to assist the clergy and congregation in worship.
The Altar Guild is responsible for preparing for the celebration of the Eucharist and the observance of the other Sacraments and Offices of the Church. Following procedures and traditions of the Episcopal Church, the Altar Guild functions ‘behind the scenes’ before and after each service, arranging flowers, polishing the silver and brass, washing and ironing the linens, and preparing the church for worship.
The Altar Guild is an essential ministry to St. Mary’s congregational life.
