Thomas Church is located in the Eastern Coal Fields of the Appalachian
Mountains in Beattyville, Lee County, Kentucky, at the confluence of the
Three Forks of the Kentucky River. It sits on a hillside above the Lee County
Courthouse.
* Directions from Lexington and Points North: From I-75 take I-64 East and drive about 18 miles to the Winchester area where you will exit onto the Bert T. Combs Mountain Parkway at Exit 98 and head toward Campton. Go about 33 miles; take Exit 33 at Slade and proceed on KY 11 South to Beattyville (you will pass Natural Bridge State Park, Torrent, Zachariah, and Zoe). Follow Hwy 11 South for about 20 miles to Beattyville. At the first traffic light turn right on Main Street and proceed to the next traffic light. Turn right on Center Street, (the Courthouse/Library is on your left), cross the railroad tracks and you will see St. Thomas. Drive up Woodford Ave to the right of the Church; parking is in the rear of the building. (Total travel time of 75-90 minutes) |
